Patricia’s Story

On December 4, 2009 Patricia Jansky Quick went in for back surgery due to scoliosis, the curvature of the spine. The surgery took nine hours and included inserting two titanium rods in her back to straighten her spine. Supposedly everything went great, and she was able to move her legs and toes immediately following the surgery. Two days later Patricia is now paralyzed from her waist down with no guarantee that she will ever be able to walk again. The doctors are puzzled and do not know what went wrong. Countless MRIs and CT Scans have been done with no explanation for the paralysis.

Her brothers, Galen and Clifton Jansky, began to think about the possibility of building her a small home so that she could have some sort of normal lifestyle. As they began to mention this idea to friends, God began to some really amazing things. All of a sudden, the plumbing was provided, the AC was provided, the electrical was provided, materials were provided, the framing was provided and concrete. We are very humbled by the outpouring of generosity to make God’s Mission of Hope for Patricia come to pass. However, more help is needed. This is why we are all pulling together. We now need to raise just $20,000 to pay for the building of the house.

Psalm 127:1 says, “Unless the Lord build the house, the labor is in vain.” With this mindset we are asking Jesus, the One who owns it all to help us start and complete this project. There are many costs and materials and labor that still need to be put in place.  We will not drive the first nail until we know that everything is in place to complete the project. Our prayer is that someday Patricia will recover and be walking around in this home and be able to look back and say, “Look what God did.”
